Talavera is the style of pottery most representative of Mexico. Talavera pottery has an exquisite blend of colors that together with its warmth best reflects the fine craftsmanship of the Mexican Artisans.

The Talavera style was originally brought to Mexico by Spanish potters who arrived in the state of Puebla in the 16th century. Local artisans who had a long history creating earthenware learned and adopted the Talavera style in combination with their own.

Thanks to its creative patterns and outstanding variety of colors and shapes, Mexican Talavera has become widely known as high quality pottery recognized everywhere by its uniqueness.

Although the original procedures of Talavera making remained untouched in many of the workshops in Puebla and Guanajuato, we produce a convenient ceramic variation of the original Talavera, making it suitable for daily use, being 100% lead free, microwavabale, oven, and dishwasher safe. Every single piece is hand-made and hand-painted with original Talavera Patterns by our skilled artisans at our workshop in the town of Dolores Hidalgo.
